Rápel de la cueva de la Peña Tallà

 Back
Rápel de la cueva de la Peña Tallà

At sunset, we went up to enjoy the views of the peak of El Fraile or Penya Tallà and its wonderful views of the village and the valley, and while we were there, and by chance we were carrying some ropes and two rucksacks of material, we did a beautiful abseil of 60 metres, the installation is very basic, three nails to the ground hammered into the ground, traditional style!

It is necessary to mount some good triangulations with some tapes and put some protectors to avoid the rubbing of the rope, the exit with the ropes so low is delicate and more with the abyss under your feet, easy to feel something running down your stomach! It is not a suitable activity for beginners, for that we have an area nearby where we can mount easier rappels and gain confidence, little by little we will increase the difficulty.

Access to the cave with the abseil (daytime photo to appreciate it better)

In the middle of the descent there is a cave, in it we will find some plates where to anchor us, to arrive to them the first one has to climb a little recovering rope, I use the machard or the duck that I installed myself for self-assurance during the descent, then I leave a vague and I anchor the rope to the plates so that the rest go down directly to the place, I then leave a bum and anchor the rope to the plates so that the rest of us can go straight down to the site, and then we can collaborate with a little tug on our part, inside I install a handrail to anchor ourselves with the ropes, all that remains is to relax a little, watch the sunset, while we enjoy some refreshments and take strength for what we have left, we are right in the middle of the adventure! !

Cueva Peña Tallà vista desde bajo

Cuva Peña Tallà seen from below

Already at night! Down below all lit up as if they were the last burning embers of a big bonfire and we are hanging here in the middle of nowhere... Let's go! It's time to finish the descent, there are just over 30 metres left, the last 20 of which are flying, it's amazing! But the cool thing is for the one who dismounts, because everyone descends comfortably from the cave, but the last one has to untie knots and carabiners, pick up and return to the vertical from inside the cave... can you imagine that? A nice pendulum in the dark of the night and into the void! I didn't want to, but something screams from inside me, while I feel wild, free...haaaa,hahaaa!!! then I come down laughing and enjoying, while I think that I still haven't lost the child inside me, surely thanks to these little controlled craziness!!!

Rappel at dusk

A beautiful sunset to repeat with the most intrepid ones

All that remains is to return, which is no small feat, climb back to the summit, collect ropes, dismantle systems and get back down the mountain! But if we want more, we can return to the crest and go down a 50 m rappel, half of it flown!
A topeeee!
We'll be back soon with more wonderful little crazy things!
Will you join us?
